In order to faci­li­ta­te the fur­ther use of image data in sur­vey­ing, inspec­tion, con­struc­tion and pro­duc­tion, soft­ware is being deve­lo­ped that extracts con­tours from image mate­ri­al and enab­les them to be expor­ted in DXF for­mat. The focus of the pro­ject is on the fast, simp­le and accu­ra­te extrac­tion of con­tours from images of a wide varie­ty of devices. For this pur­po­se, fil­ters and algo­rith­ms have been pre­set which can be fine-tun­ed for a wide ran­ge of app­li­ca­ti­ons. It is also pos­si­ble to cali­bra­te a wide ran­ge of came­ras and record­ing devices. Dis­tor­ti­ons cau­sed by len­ses are thus remo­ved from the image mate­ri­al. Sto­ring a ratio (e.g. mm/pixel) enab­les true-to-sca­le export to DXF for­mat. The soft­ware saves an enor­mous amount of time when genera­ting DXF data from stan­dard image mate­ri­al.
